Together with AOJN Interiors, the apartment has undergone a thoughtful transformation, allowing the original architecture to take centre stage while new materials, forms and bespoke details create a distinct identity.
The result is a home defined by contrasts: classic and contemporary, refined and playful, monumental and intimate. A consistent appreciation for materials and craftsmanship ties the rooms together, creating a natural sense of continuity throughout the home.
The choice of materials plays a central role in AOJN Interiors’ vision for the home, with every surface contributing to a cohesive whole. Throughout the apartment, a Versailles-patterned oak floor from Chevron in the shade 201 Ljunghusen creates a continuous foundation. The classic pattern reflects the turn-of-the-century character of the apartment, while its warm, natural tone lends the floor a softer, more contemporary expression. The result is a distinctive foundation for the interior; a floor that anchors the rooms in the home’s history while allowing the furniture, art and other materials to take centre stage.
Throughout the apartment, a Versailles-patterned oak floor from Chevron in the finish 201 Ljunghusen creates a continuous foundation.
The light tone of 201 Ljunghusen gives the Versailles pattern a soft, contemporary expression. The shade allows the oak’s natural grain and variations to come through, while reflecting daylight and enhancing the apartment’s airy atmosphere. Set against the generous proportions and classic architectural details, the floor feels both distinctive and understated, adding rhythm and depth without overpowering the interior.
