About the project Villa AL:
Villa AL is a private home in Stockholm with functionalist architecture. When the house no longer met the family’s needs, the choice was between moving or transforming. The client wholeheartedly chose to give the house a new life, where we respected the architecture but reinterpreted the spaces and created a new balance between function and aesthetics. The focus was on a few consistent, high-quality materials, smartly integrated storage, and a subtle reorganization of certain rooms. — Ebba Fox

Ebba further explains that a limited selection of natural materials was chosen to create a harmonious and cohesive flow. Natural materials have the ability to capture light, add depth, and age beautifully. Together, they highlight the true character of the house and create a timeless elegance that was previously missing.
How did you decide on the choice of flooring?
The flooring features a striking chevron pattern with extra-long planks that enhance the sense of space and add a playful detail that elevates the interior. The beautiful tone and quality, which we found with Chevron, harmonize perfectly with the other materials and create a warm and elegant impression, explains Ebba.
