Andreas Martin-Löf Arkitekter

Chevron floor in colour 202 Norr Mälarstrand

Along Riddarfjärden, in a building from 1936, architect Andreas Martin-Löf has designed two floors comprising a private apartment and the office of his own architecture firm.

Here, Andreas has recreated functionalist details while playing with modern material choices in a playful way. Inspiration was drawn from the original architecture – the choice of stone and wood details, for example, was based on what was found around the building. To preserve the original feel, Andreas chose a chevron floor in solid oak, and a finish was created to match and recreate his inspiration from an old window found in the basement.
